LA Rams trade with the Tennessee Titans for the first pick in the 2016 draft

The LA Rams are now on the clock after trading the Tennessee Titans for the first overall pick in the 2016 draft.

The Rams, who will be on Hard Knocks this summer, have been secretive about their quarterback workouts over the past few weeks and with this move you can now see why.

All the talk during the off-season from Jeff Fischer and the rest of the Rams front office has been that Case Keenum is their starting QB for 2016.

But now they have the first pick in the draft, it is more likely that they acquire Carson Wentz or Jared Goff to be their signal caller this season.

With the stadium move, the Rams are desperate for a face of the franchise and what better way to get fans excited about the next chapter of the franchise than using the number 1 pick to get a quarterback that can lead the team for the next decade.

For the first pick overall, Titans will pick at 15, 43, 45 76 as well as the Rams’ 1st and 3rd round picks next year. With this franchise in rebuild mode, it makes sense for them to pick up as many drafts as possible over the next two years and they now have 6 of the top 76 selections.

This gives them plenty of moves to pick up offensive lineman to protect Marcus Mariota, who they picked up with the 2nd overall pick last year, as well as improve their defence.

The Rams this year have the 1st, 113th and 177th pick in the 2016 draft, which starts on the 28th April.

The move also has huge ramifications for the Cleveland Browns who were reportedly very interested in taking Wentz with the number 2 pick.

Should the Rams select Wentz, the Browns are likely to take Goff with the next pick but early mock drafts from around the league had Hue Jackson drafting Wentz.
