NFC North Predictions – Detroit Lions

As part of a series of posts, I’ve looked at each of the games that the teams in the NFC North are going to be playing this season, then each week of the regular season in my prediction of the results for the week to come I’ll revisit these. Hopefully I get lauded as a predictive wizard come the end of the season!

Week 1: @ Colts
Week 2: Titans
Week 3: @ Packers
Week 4: @ Bears
Week 5: Eagles
Week 6: Rams
Week 7: Redskins
Week 8: @ Texans
Week 9: @ Vikings
Week 10: BYE WEEK
Week 11: Jaguars
Week 12: Vikings
Week 13: @ Saints
Week 14: Bears
Week 15: @ Giants
Week 16: @ Cowboys
Week 17: Packers

I’m not going to go game by game here- as I really do not think the Lions have a great roster, they have so many holes on the roster that I’m unsure how many wins they will be able to pick up. I think realistically they are going to pick up a handful of victories (I’m looking at the games against the Titans, Saints- although that is a the SuperDome and the games in Weeks 5 -7 as the games to target for them)

This team lost a hall of famer in Megatron and haven’t gone anywhere to replace him, Stafford has a huge question mark against him- and has lost his best receiver. The OL isn’t dominant and I think they will struggle

Season prediction is that they get a high draft pick (maybe even #1) and trade it away to try and fill the gaps they have in their roster
