NFC South Predictions – Week 9 to 12

NFC South Predictions – Week 9 to 12

Rather than take each team on its own, I have decided to split the season into 4 sections and used previous match-ups and momentum as a factor in trying to predict each teams result for that particular week.

Week 9

Atlanta Falcons v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It’s a re-run of last season as the Bucs claim a whitewash over The Dirty Birds. The Bucs win keeps the pressure on the Panthers as the Falcons and Saints are left to fight over the basement positions in the NFC South.

Result – Buccaneers win

Carolina Panthers v Los Angeles Rams

The Rams lose their first game in LA in over 22 years as the Panthers claim a vital win on the road. Kelvin Benjamin displays his rookie season form, however, it is the ever reliable Greg Olsen who proves to be the match-winner.

Result – Panthers win

New Orleans Saints v San Francisco 49-ers

It’s proving to be a real struggle for Chip Kelly in his first season as Head Coach in the Bay as the Saints leave Levi’s Stadium with a rare away win.

Result – Saints win

Week 10

Denver Broncos v New Orleans Saints

With a three way fight developing at the top of the AFC West, the Broncos have to win in the Super Bowl and they do as yet again the Saints are capable of scoring on Offense but also conceding, a lot, on Defence.

Result – Saints loss

Kansas City Chiefs v Carolina Panthers

Football fans are in for a treat as two play-off contenders go head to head in Charlotte. Although the Panthers are struggling to repeat last season’s form, they still manage to sneak out a tight win against the in form Chiefs.

Result – Panthers win

Atlanta Falcons v Philadelphia Eagles

A rare win away from Georgia for the Falcons as the Eagles continue to struggle at home in 2016. The only consolidation for Eagles fans is that they are doing slightly better than Chip’s 49-ears at this stage of the season. The Falcons poor start to the season, sees them firmly rooted to the bottom of the division.

Result – Falcons win

Chicago Bears v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Having lost both games against the Bears whilst under Lovie Smith’s tenure, the Bucs don’t make the same mistakes under Koetter and keep momentum on their side as they keep the pressure on the Panthers as two massive games are looming large on the horizon.

Result – Buccaneers win

Week 11

Bye week – Atlanta Falcons

Tampa Bay Buccaneers v Kansas City Chiefs

The Bucs run had to come to an end eventually and there is no embarrassment in the defeat from the current top seed in the AFC. The Chiefs have been playing lights out football all season and today was no different.

Result – Buccaneers loss

New Orleans Saints v Carolina Panthers

The Panthers avenge their loss In New Orleans earlier in the season by recording a relatively comfortable win against the Saints.

Result – Panthers win

Week 12

Carolina Panthers v Oakland Raiders

The young Raiders team is beginning to lose touch with the Chiefs at the top of the AFC West but they still push Carolina all the way in a pulsating encounter at the Coliseum. The Black and Silver are within touching distance of their first winning season since 2002.

Result – Panthers win

Seattle Seahawks v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Bucs lose their second game on the bounce but this time at home against the Seahawks. However, like the Raiders, the Bucs are also within touching distance of their first winning season since they missed the play-offs in 2010 despite finishing with a 10-6 record. Could history repeat in 2016?

Result – Buccaneers loss

Arizona Cardinals v Atlanta Falcons

Arizona win in Georgia for the first time since the Phoenix Cardinals won there in 1994. With the the Cardinals fighting it out with Seattle at the top of the NFC West, they are more than a match for the Falcons side who have struggled to show any consistency throughout the season.

Result – Falcons loss

Los Angeles Rams v New Orleans Saints

The Rams are a force to be reckoned with at home but have struggled to make any impact away from home and today is a prime example as they lose to a Saints side. Todd Gurley does his best to get the win but Saints stand firm to see off the challenge from their West Coast opponents.

Result – Saints win

Division Standings After Week 12

Carolina Panthers 9-2
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 7-4
New Orleans Saints 4-7
Atlanta Falcons 3-8
