Meet Amy Trask: The first female CEO in the NFL

I kick off the #WomenInNFL blog series with respected sports executive, and the first female CEO in the NFL: Amy Trask.

Who is Amy Trask?

Amy Trask worked with the Oakland Raiders for almost 30 years, serving as CEO from 1997 to 2013. She was involved in all non-football business matters and operations for the team, including team representation at league meetings.

Amy initially joined the Raiders in 1983 as an intern while she was still a law school student. She began her legal career at a law firm in LA before rejoining the Raiders in 1987. 10 years later in 1997, she’d worked her way up to become the NFL’s first female front-office executive. Impressive right?

In her book: You Negotiate Like a Girl: Reflections on a Career in the National Football League, Amy shares how she found success by operating without regard to gender, and tales about being part of the Raiders’ front office, behind the closed doors of NFL owners meetings. Her book is a must-read not only for football fans, but anyone who wants to succeed in business.

What is she up to nowadays?

Well, she is currently a football analyst for CBS Sports Network, appearing regularly on ‘That Other Pregame Show’ and periodically on ‘The NFL Today’. Amy is also one of the original panellists appearing on the first-ever all-women’s sports talk show, ‘We Need To Talk’ on CBS Sports Network.

Make sure you follow Amy Trask on Twitterto hear the latest in amazing things she has been doing.
