News and views on all things American Football from a fans perspective

Hi, I’m Liz. I’m a Seattle Seahawks fan blogging and tweeting on all things NFL (National Football League) from a fans perspective.

For those new to me, and new to the blog, I started writing in October 2014 and since then I’ve written a range of different topics, from why I chose my team to game news and fantasy football.

I’d been going out with my boyfriend Bharat for a couple of months (He’s big in to his NFL, watched it growing up and then got back in to it years later – he’s a San Francisco 49ers fan but loves watching the game in general). He was watching Sky Sports when I was over and it was Seattle playing, I can’t for the life of me remember who the opposition was, but I remembered it being mid-season or at least not too far away from the play-off’s, the one where Falcon’s knocked us out, if my memory serves me.

My friends were probably sick of me talking about NFL all the time so I created a specific account to start tweeting from (@NFLGirlUK) in September 2014 and shortly after, in October, I started an NFL UK blog. It was just weeks before going to see my first ever NFL game at Wembley stadium (read it here). I’ve always enjoyed writing and with NFL being a huge passion of mine, getting to write about the game just seemed right.

NFLGirlUK has huge amount of support from Sky Sports host Kevin Cadle, Sky Sports analyst Jeff Reinebold and former American football full back in the National Football League Cecil Martin. I have appeared twice on TalkSport2’s All American Sports Show with Nat Coombs and was ranked No.37 (of 400+) in the “Super Bowl: Top 50 UK Influencers” by marketing software producers Onalytica.

“Out of the 400+ NFL UK influencers identified, we were keen to see who ranked in the top 50 in the run up to the big game. It’s interesting to note media publications driving the most engagement so far are The Guardian, Sky, The Evening Standard, and 5 Live, as well as presenters such as Darren Fletcher for BT Sport. Gambling organisations such as Coral, bet365 and William Hill also feature quite highly. Out of the celebrities, Vernon Kay is leading the discussion, and out of the fans NFLGirlUK is igniting conversations.”
